So the past few day I been searching for chemical formulating company for my work, I came across this company http://www.healthadvanceslab.com/contac t.htm during my search and I send that company a business e-mail. This morning, I got a voice mail left by some dude name Dr. Kurt something something from someplace (his accent was pretty strong so I couldn't make sense) saying he wish me to call him back so we can discuss about business in detail, now, since I can not make much sense on what his saying and I contacted a number of companies in the past few day, I tried google that number he gave me ,1-619-475-9951 to see which company was he representing, and this is what I found -
ttp://www.casewatch.org/crim/donsbach/de claration.shtml
" Kurt Donsbach, 73, whose dubious health-related activities have spanned more than 50 years, is facing 11 felony counts including treating patients without a license, misbranding drugs for sale, grand theft, unlawfully dispensing drugs as a cure for cancer, and falsely representing a cure for cancer. The declaration in support of his arrest warrant states ..."
Apparently this guy is also do a weekly radio broad cast on Thursday from 10 to 12 am where he talk about his drug cure for cancer, patient should take half the prescription doctor recommended, ect (Detail all in the article). I guess you San Diego peep need to watch out. Supposedly the warrant is out, don't know he was already arrested and bailed, but since he can still call me, it means his out of the bar.

So while taking a small break on my weekend photoshoot, I discover this at the photo site. Due note that I don't recommend you look at it if you're at work or is eating.
( don't click if you're working, eating, etc. )
( don't click if you're working, eating, etc. )
How do people like photographer's watermark on your photo? Big and noticeable? Small and discreet? Burned in the background of the image? Put on an extra boarder outside of the picture? No watermark and credited the photographer separately?
I always felt weird seem photographer's watermark taking up like an entire corner of photos since it can get distracting, but that just me.
On a side note I woke up twice last night, one time was from a zombie nightmare, another one I forgot, but most likely also nightmare as I recall I waking up shiver.
On another side note I completely both Earth and Zeon storyline for the game, while you do have semi-different ending, ultimately Zeon's have a worse end IMO.
On yet another side note, while everyone online is piloting Gundam NT-1, etc... I plan on pwning people with this

Though it suck really bad when I'm playing underwater map.

Lately I been going for swim right after work. The beautiful blue that I see when I dive in is just simply spectacular (Ofcourse I pretend not to see the old age group that is doing water movement on the side). The more I swim the more I think of this artist,

I'm sure you'll also find lots of art you like from her.
That made me want to do underwater more and more, I had read an article on underwater shooting 2 years ago that had me interested in it since than. Contract to popular though that you must have a underwater hose (which cost roughly 1k for plastic, wtf?), the artist for that article did all his work using an Olympus water proof camera and he also made some noteable remark as to why a waterproof P&S would be sufficient enough(Stillvision Solartempest I think you asked a question about underwater hose before, wether is worth it or not, I was busy back than and forgot to reply, so this maybe help).
1. A waterproof P&S cost roughly cost around 300 USD, while underwater hose cost 1k.
2. Most of the time while you're in water, you will only be in there for a quick 20 Seconds and that is with probabbly 10 seconds waiting for the model to get the pose ready. Underwater posing is not like on land posing, you have to wait until the hair, cloth, etc. float to the position you want, can't simply just put them there. Because of that, the idea is to snatch as much shot as you can, thus, a P&S with large LCD to liveview(I mean, most DSLR don't have liveview) will help you frame underwater much faster and quicker.
3. Unless you're already experienced enough and is shooting with alot of object in the water (model, prop, water bubble, etc) and needed specific shutter speed for the effect, chance are you are going to shoot everything on full auto. As mentioned above you have about 10~15 seconds to shoot per model entering the water & you can only shoot so much a day before the model's eye gets red from opening the eye in the water, you will not have the time to adjust your shutter speed, etc in water. So letting the auto decide what is best on focus & enhanced it later in post process would be a better chose & since full auto produce roughly the same result on both type of camera, go with the lower cost one to start.
4. one of DSLR's main power is the variety of lens. However, when you first start off underwater shooting, chances are you would be doing in swimming pool, what does that mean? It means that you aren't really going to need a variety of lens, it means that you aren't goign to need much of the cool super lens blur, as the distant background is just a pile of blues, you aren't really going to have blur background, etc. So a DSLR without strong lens on auto is pretty much a nice P&S.
5. Most P&S have really big Megapixel now, so you'll a nice big picture to work with.
6. You are going to do alot of post processing, be it shopping out the waterhose in the swim pool, or what not, just be accept that you are not going to get a "perfect" shot like you would normally on land shoot.

Feel like doing a friend cut, if I cut you, it either means,
1. We haven't talk to each other for over half a year.
2. I really don't remember who you are.
3. I been just skipping your posts for various of reasons.

So I spend most of the yesterday visiting a cosmetic manufacturer. It was interesting to see tanks and tanks of raw material, mixing process, etc. Also the numbers such as how much was Mac worth back when they were purchased by others, how much cover girls make a year in Target, etc. Sadly this doesn't make me a makeup expert.
To successfully plan an event, you need detail organization and frequent communication.
Detail organization include asking question such as:
What day is the event?
When is the event?
How many people involve?
Where is everyone coming from?
What is everyone doing?
Is there carpool involve?
How long would the event go?
Frequent communication involve atleast all the attendee know what is going on, and included or notified ahead of time of they are a key role in the event.
The Organizer can never, ever, not communicate with other people or relay on people to pass the message on. With the advance of technology, communication are made much easier. AIM, MSN, Text Message, cell phone, LJ, there are atleast 5 method to contact a person, but most people just simply choose not to, or been lazy about it. Is like playing a mind game where the two side have to guess what the other is thinking.
If you're a poor organizer, either stop organizing, or wise up. Talk with people, communicate, discuss, let all the parties know whats coming. A disorganized event does nothing but reflect on the lack of personal skill on the organizer.
(Also, don't ever wait until the last min and tell people your plan and expect everyone to follow through)

Who's actually going to that cosplay picnic this weekend?
( pic )
While been slower than usual, I finished Jojo and Pandora Heart set. Jojo set was great fun, I always wanted to check out LA's old zoo so this was a great opportunity. The background fit perfectly well with Jojo, as jojo is a very colorful and attitude series. I'm very glad that chris/soni asked me to do this set, as I felt I receive more valuable experience than them.
To give heads up to others wanting to try out the location, the place was pretty dirty as it was abandon and have trash all over the place. While it is open free to the public, you do have to craw through ripped opening on the wire fens to get into the actual cells that used to hold the animals, so I wouldn't recommend large costume prop. Luckliy both Chris/Soni doesn't have a problem of getting dirty or crawl into questionable place that look like where people hide mystery stuff.(minus the bug incident!).
I always find it more exciting when model doesn't mind getting the costume dirty (like Shiya jumping into the ocean with her shino costume back than, which tooked her a week handwash to get it cleaned), sometimes in order to get the feeling into the shot, you have to destroy the costume in the progress (ie. my Manji cos). Of course, this is not always the case and there are also good reasons why coser need the costume be clean/one piece after the shoot.
The other set done was Pandora Heart. It was a challenging set as the socal sun was really causing a great difference in lightning, especially when I want to included all background & the clocktower. None the less, it was fun time & thanks to Lunaneko, chibi & Tiff for the shoot. I wish Luna & Chibi have fun in Ukraine.
Last thing left from AX is Code Geass set, which I hope to start on it next week. I'm leaving for Vegas tomorrow for work and will not be back until Tuesday night.
